It Happens...

So UBC decided that in order to kick off the new year the right way, we should get new toilets for all our bathrooms. Matt Hickman put one in the girls bathroom by himself, then I helped him with another in the girls bathroom...(well, I stood and watched) So there are two remaining to be put into the Men's restroom and our goal was to get them in prior to the Elms concert on Thursday. Matt Singleton and I decide Tuesday that we are up for the task. So we get the first of the two old toilets off and into the trash outside, only small amounts of dirty water managed to get on us... we are feeling pretty good. Then we put together the new toilet, get it ready to screw in and Houston we have a problem. We couldn't get the screws to work and I know this sounds like a bad joke (How many guys does it take to screw in a toilet?) but seriously it ended with matt breaking off the piece that you screw the toilet into. We realize after a trip to Lowes that we are in over our heads at this point and are going to have to call out a plumber. We decide that we are going to go ahead and replace the remaining toilet. I mean come on... if we had been able to screw it in we were done...so what could possible go wrong?

Toilet number 2 seems easy, get the old one in the trash, don't spill any water on us (yes!) then when we try and put it on, well it will not get level. There we are with two toilets in the trash and two new toilets 95% complete but 100% unusable. The next day the plumber comes out and fixes the mess we made and installs a new sink and $400 later we are good to go... Right?

The concert is Thursday night and this is the first time the new toilets get broken in. I decided that I needed to go relieve myself about 30mins into the concert and when I went to flush it didn't work ? So I went after a plunger and when I got back I noticed that water was all over the floor in the bathroom, but not by the toilet that wouldn't flush. I looked at the other one and it was backed-up also. So I am thinking," the plumber did something wrong" Then I find out very quickly that not only are the two toilets in the guys room not working, but neither are the ones in the women's bathroom. So water and who knows what else is all over both bathroom floors. That's right, we had ourselves a small flood of the bad stuff everywhere! We had to reroute all the concert folks to the back of the church for bathroom needs and called a plumber.

Ready for the good news, it was not our fault that the things didn't work, we most likely have a broken water line under the church somewhere... Oh wait, this isn't good news.... So who knows what is going to happen now.. but I did learn how to install a toilet, first you buy the toilet and second you call a plumber.

GO PATRIOTS!!!

It was a sad night last night. I had to watch the Philadephia Eagles lose their third straight NFC championship game in a row. Now being the true fan i am, I want to go ahead now and make my excuses of why I thought they lost. The main reason has to do with one special play made by the Panthers Greg Favors. Not too many people can say that they have had the opportunity to take a completely cheap shot on the quarterback during a championship game and break a rib and GET AWAY WITH IT!!!! For the LOVE!!! That was so lame, so so lame. It is one thing to lose three in a row, but to have to watch your quarterback, your leader get taken out by a dirty hit after the play was over... that just hurts! So I will be watching the superbowl this year, and I am going to be wearing red, white and blue and cheering for the New England Patriots. In fact, most people always wish for a close game to make it more exciting, not me. I want the Patriots to beat them so bad that everyone stops watching... except for me.. I will watch every last second with a smile on my face. Shame on you Greg Favors, you will never be able to enjoy your victory over the eagles!

Wow, that felt good to get that off my chest. One last tribute needs to be given to the workhorse known as Duce Staley! good ole #22 will most likely not be an eagle next year and this is too bad. Their wasn't a single guy on that team that played harder or did more for the Eagles than DUCE!!! Your the man Duce, thanks for everything. Maybe they will keep you around and get all new receivers, because seriously the passes that were dropped last night are inexcusable! These guys get paid millions to catch a ball and then they drop it in the big game??? That shouldn't happen. I think the team may look a little different next year and I am okay with that, as long as they can take it one step further and make it to the Superbowl. One last excuse, Westbrook needs to get well, leading scorer not playing doesn't help.
