See if you can spot the Turkey?

We are heading to San Antonio for thanksgiving to be with Jamie's whole family. Big family reunion and grandparents 60th anniversary. I don't know how much time I will have on the computer while I am away so I wanted to take a minute and wish all my friends and family a happy thanksgiving. I love you all very much and am very Thankful that you are apart of my life. Travel safe if you are, and be sure and remember all the funny things that happen so we can swap stories. Holiday stories are the best. I can't believe I am saying this but, "GO Cowboys!" I want them to win so that when the Eagles beat them the next week everyone will know who is boss!!

Teenie Bop

Friday night Jamie and I went to go see Phantom Planet in Austin. For those of you who aren't familiar, Phantom Planet sings that song, "California, California, Here we come!!!" We have liked them for sometime now and their drummer is Jason Swatrzman (the actor from Rushmore and Slackers). So we get to Austin Friday and shop the drag, our friend Nathan comes down and he hasn't ever been to Austin so we took him to all the hot spots. Then off to Maudie's for some great Mexican food. After dinner we decide to go ahead and get to the concert. We had heard earlier in the day that the show didn't start at 8pm like I originally had heard, but we were not sure when it did start. They let us into the building at 9pm, we sat down and waited and waited and waited. While waiting we noticed something. Everyone at the venue was under the age of 18. We had come to see a teenie bopper band and we didn't even know it. Jamie and I both felt very old the whole time. There were a few parents standing around in the back who had brought their kids to the show. Phantom Planet didn't take the stage until 11:45pm and we had both taken a nap on the side bench at this point.

The redeeming factor of the night was how amazing the show was. The band had more energy in their opening song than most groups do in their encore. As you can see from the picture, the lead singer was a bit of a nut. This is a picture of him hanging upside down from the ceiling singing the last song. I guess I learned two things from this experience 1. 10:30pm is way to late to start a concert and 2. It sucks being the oldest person in the room
