Long Live the Queen!

Sometimes i wonder, what if i were British for one day? I mean, my favorite bands are British, or European. I like cold, dreary, rainy, gray days. I love the accent. Soccer is the greatest sport ever and that is a fact! I Love the Union Jack, how cool is that! I dig the fashion, heck i even think that having a Queen is pretty cool. I think to some degree that having a queen is pretty messed up and that all people are truely equal and all that stuff, but it seems like The Queen of England is no more than the American version of say "Julia Roberts" or "Jennifer Aniston". I think that i would like to dream for a day that i lived in London, had a nice flat, with really cool modern furniture. I would have to have one of those cool british names like Ewan or Liam, that i drove some cool Eurovan or a nice little sports car. Of course this dream would include me being in a huge British Rock Band, possibly Oasis, or Coldplay. I was taking a break from my band to work on a book so Jamie and i moved out to our Castle (castles are the coolest of the cool) for a retreat from all the pressure of being in a brit rock band. We were heading to visit with the Prime Minister later that week to campaign for fair trade and then we were going to end the week with a Tribute concert to Sir Paul McCartney at Wimbley Stadium. All in all a typical day for a typical Englishman.

    THE FACTS OF LIFE!

So Friday my parents, my sister and Sean, Jamie and I went to Canton TX for what is called, "First Mondays". I know what you are thinking, and I had problems here also, its Friday and we are going to First Mondays? Whatever, not important.. So this place is just the largest flee market in the world. It is unbelievable, it is like the Spice store in Waco times 1000 and 1/3 the cost. Every guys dream place, ok it was hell but I was with my family and we really did have a lot of fun. The Jamie's went walking off for a minute and came back over and said, "you will not believe who we just saw" , and we were like, "who?" They said, " Blair, from the Facts of life" Sean and I immediately took off to go find "Blair", Not exactly sure why except that it gave us something to do to take our attention away from the sad junkfest of American consumerism at its worst. So we were unsuccessful and headed over to eat lunch. Low and behold there she was, in all her glory, " BLAIR" from the Facts of Life. I decided that I needed to make it official and so I went over and asked to have my picture taken with her, she was very kind and said, "yes".

I guess part of the reason I was so excited was, sure she is a celebrity or was, but my friend Pete is always blogging about all these famous people he gets to see in Hollywood, well Pete, check this out!
