So the other day Jamie and I were driving to Austin and we passed by the Bell County Expo Center. It reminded me of one concert that I will never forget. We had front row seats to see Audio Adrenaline with The OC Supertones and Jennifer Knapp! It was a great show! The year was 1998 and the Album that wouldn't leave my cd player was "Some Kind of zombie" by Audio A. Now when this thing came out I thought it was the most amazing thing I have ever heard. I remember watching MTV and they would use the music from the album in the background of their interviews and stuff. For some reason that validated the music to me? So after passing the expo center I said to Jamie, "remember that album?" and she said, "kinda, we use to listen to it alot..." Well, I decided to pull it back out today and see how it stands the test of time... and I must say, it ain't too shabby! IN fact I am going to recommend that all of you go dig this album out of the closet and put it in. I know that every single person reading this thing has this album, don't pretend that you don't. Trust me, it is worth it. The album has some very strong stuff on it and considering it was made over 7 years ago by a christian band, I would say that it has definitely surpassed the test of time. Album highlights: Lighthouse, blitz, and Chevette. So I stand before you today and proudly announce the MUSIC OF THE DAY Audio Adrenaline's "Some Kind of Zombie" cheers

And the MVP goes to Akers!
"It all comes down to this final kick..." how many times do you hear this every year during football season? It seems to be inevitable that someone's season comes down to some guy who spends the majority of the game standing on the sidelines. Not only that, but when he comes into the game, there are rules to protect people from even touching him. It is like the team works so hard, takes so many hits, blood, sweat, and tears to have some guy just run in and decide the fate of the whole team. There are countless stories of kickers who have blown their chance to make the kick. I don't even want to get started on the Florida St. field goal curse. (something like 6 years in a row they have missed game winning field goals against Miami) U2 even has a video devoted entirely to the kicker. The song "stuck in a moment" shows a kicker coming in and missing the big kick. The video shows the kicker reliving the moment for the rest of his life... its a great video (you can check it out at u2.com)
But today was the day for the HERO! After missing a field goal earlier in the game, David Akers comes in and kicks a 37 year field goal to tie the game and send it to over time. Then after Brett Favvv-ree-ahh? fauh-rah? whatever...throws up a carter (that's right, from now on when a quarterback throws a horrible lame pass and the other team gets the ball, it is called a Carter... as in Quincy Carter!! how about them cowboys!) back to the story, so the eagles get the ball down and Akers kicks another great 31 yard field goal to WIN the game!!!! So WE are one step closer to the super bowl! Thank you David Akers! I would like to throw in a few honorable mentions for great performances. McNabb wasn't too shabby and lead the team to victory, nice. Also, Freddie Mitchell catches a 28 yard pass on 4th and 26 to go with 1:12 left in the game! Nice catch! Last honorable mention goes out to Chris Aho, he is a big packers fan and I know that he was upset at the loss...but not me! cheers
